Seven SUMHC Players Play at Home Nations in Edinburgh

The annual universities home nations took place last week in Edinburgh with hundreds of students travelling to the Scottish capital for what was to be a fantastic showcase of university sport.

Led by 1st XI coach Graham Charlesworth; 1st XI captain Alex Bourn captained the Welsh side with Jacob Draper, Michael Venn, Luke Pelech, Sam Topping, Ian Ewart and Joe Woodyear also selected. The team lost 4-2 to hosts Scotland but bounced back with a

2-2 draw against a very strong England side, both goals coming from SUMHC players Luke Pelech and Michael Venn.

Overall a great experience for the boys that were playing in their first home nations, with next year already in the minds of those staying at the club.
