Stat-Man Re-cap

With all our games this weekend being postponed due to snow everywhere else except here, it gives us a perfect opportunity to check in with Stat-Man and see how the season is progressing...

Results

The first team this week hosted Ashmoor who currently sit top of the table in a bid to continue their good form. They were however unfortunately defeated 4-2. The Swansea goals were scored by Yorkie, continuing his hot streak, as well as Woody who also earned himself Man of the Match.

On Saturday the 3s played in an absolute score fest against local rivals Swansea City with the result being 4-3 to Uni. The goal scorers were Elvis x 2, Stringer, and a goal of the season contender from Gav with a volley from top D in off the underside of the bar.

On Wednesday the Threes hosted USW who recently beat the 2’s and drew with them 2-2. The goals were both scored by OVK in the first half. However a much-improved USW side brought the game back to them early in the second half with the game in the balance until the very end.

Returning to action this week the 4th team played out a 1-1 draw with Cardiff Medics. I bet you can guess who scored the goal.

With the twos having a bit of a wobble of form recently, they came into the week needing a result against Penarth, they will however have to wait another week to sort their Saturday form as they lost 1-0 to Penarth.

Top Goal Scorer

The Brick Wall Award

Ehi overtakes Conor Baverstock for the first time in weeks, can he hold the lead?

The Liability Award

A return to playing for Mr Broughton sees a return of his steady accumulation of points. Also, as I don’t believe in double jeopardy I’m not giving double TW points to Greg.

Attack vs Defence

Again no movement in this one, despite a couple of braces.

Team Analysis

With very similar amounts of games played by the 1’s and 3’s you can see that the strength for the firsts is their scoring, whereas for the third XI their strong defence is where they excel.

Umpiring

New name on the list as a few more people gain PQ status.

Not much more hockey this year keep going

All the best OVK.
