Stat-Man's Back

This week, the twos put pregame time to good use introducing the twitter sphere to a truly spectacular warm-up. With Gavin winning the crossbar challenge and helicon repping the uni tie in their remake of last year’s viral video. Ranga also made himself a little more famous, especially with the girls club, but we won’t go into that.

Results

The 3’s this week had a mountain to climb before the game even pushed back. Pearson’s car broke down half way to Gwent, and therefore were left with only 8 players. To make matters worse among the players lost was step in skipper Bisson who was to fill in for snakey Stringer. As such they went for a 6-1 formation and with a nice sense of circularity 6-1 was also the score with Dj grabbing the goal with the last touch of the game.

Pearson’s day did however start better than it ended with his team routing Bridgend 6-0 proving that apparently he can finish his dinner by scoring 5 times but the headlines and the MoM went to Sammy for his sublime goal.

Continuing their scintillating form the 1st XI won both games this week by tight margins. On Saturday they hosted North Somerset and won 3-2, on another day it could have been more but I think they will take the 3 points provided by goals from Yorkie, Woody, & Ollie Edwards which takes them into 8th place. On Wednesday they held their nerve and beat Bournemouth 4-2 in an end to end game after a slow start. This keeps their rather slim mathematical chance of promotion alive. Goals on Wednesday came from Yorkie (again) Denman and Pinky x 2

The unbeaten record is gone, and long will it be mourned. On Wednesday the 2's travelled to USW always a tough place to go with mutterings of ropey umpiring and a poor performance they lost for the first time this season 1-0.

On Saturday however, they continued in their usual vein of dispatching teams and beat local rivals Car**** Uni 6-0 with goals from Zeyn, Thommo x 2, Topknot, and Stringer x 2

Top Goal Scorer

A very rare opportunity to close the gap at the top with neither of the perennial front runners adding to their tallies this week.

Brick Wall Award

Even when he loses and gets Tw he still brings down his average, gotta be cheating.

The Liability Award

Despite not playing for 2 weeks Mr Long-Barrier himself still leads the way.

Attack vs Defence

The defenders extend their lead again will it happen who knows.

Goal Difference Tracker

300 Up

A big landmark for the club as the 300th goal goes to James Denman with a Danger-push into the bottom corner, which in the end proved to be the winning goal against Bournemouth.

Scoring Rate

Deep into the season the difference between these two is a great sign for the season.

Keep up the great work
