Sports Awards success for SUMHC!

Wednesday 3rd May marked the largest ever Sport Swansea Annual Awards with over 600 sportsmen, sportswomen and VIP's packed into Brangwyn Hall for a celebration of all things university sport. The club had two members shortlisted for two of the evenings most prestigious awards, Sportsman of the Year and the Sporting Recognition Award. Michael Venn, Luke Pelech, Alex Bourn, Jacob Draper, Sam Topping, Ian Ewart and Joe Woodyear were all awarded their half colours for representing Welsh Universities at the home nations in Edinburgh in April. Jacob Draper also received his full colours after receiving 10 caps for Wales since joining the university in September.

The evening ended in success for the club with Jacob Draper becoming the first ever SUMHC player to win Swansea University Sportsman of the Year and club legend Jeff Lee was rewarded for all his hard work over the past 25 years for the club and the student union winning the Swansea University Sporting Recognition Award.
