New 2017/2018 Committee and End of Season Awards

Incoming Committee

SUMHC recently voted in the new Club Committee for the next season. Callum Pink takes over as Club Captain from the very capable hands of outgoing CC Liam Frost. A new position of Vice Club Captain has been made incorporating the role of Treasurer with various extra duties, which shall be filled by Liam Hogan. Another new position of Media Secretary has also been created to take responsibility for the club website, Twitter and Facebook, with Juan Bellando taking that role in a landslide victory. Taking over the positions of Social Secretaries and hoping to build on last years successes are Angus Urquhart and Ehi Otoide.

What the candidates for team captains lacked in quantity, they more than made up for in quality. Edward Goldsmith becomes Captain of a highly exciting 1st XI who will be looking to gain promotion next year. Zeyn Mulla put his disappointment of last year behind him as he was this time successful in becoming the 2nd XI Captain, whilst Alex Stringer was unanimously voted in as 3rd XI Captain. Finally Chris Pearson delivered a rousing speech to be named 4th XI Captain after proving his worth in the 3rd, 4th and 5th teams in the past year.

The new committee would like to extend their thanks to the old members as they hope to build on a solid foundation and deliver another highly successful season.

On the same night the club also had their End of Season Awards Dinner. Incoming Club Captain Callum Pink was awarded Clubman of the Year, George Marshall won the coveted Fresher of the Year title and after a 'testing' Easter Tour Jack Helicon was awarded Tour Fresher of the Year.
