Draper Flies Out for EuroHockey Championship II 2017
Our very own Jacob Draper is set to make his first senior European Championship appearance for Wales this week. The tournament starts on Sunday 6th August in Glasgow, Scotland with the final games on Saturday 12th August. With 8 nations competing for the chance to progress into the top tier of the Championship. These nations are; Wales, France, Ukraine, Scotland, Portugal, Russia, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

With the squad flying out today, We asked Jacob how he was feeling heading into the competition, he said “It's huge excitement really, it's my first senior Europeans so everything’s new, which gives it an edge over the previous junior Europeans I've been to. I honestly believe we can get promoted and start competing with all the best teams in the world; over the last 12 months our results have been fantastic and the build up to these Europeans have been so promising, with wins over both Austria and Poland , there's a huge belief in the squad that we can turn some heads and especially get a win over Scotland on their own stomping ground.” Everyone at SUMHC wishes Jacob and the Welsh team the best of luck for the games in the coming days.
