Focus On... Jacob Draper

Following his recent EuroHockey Championship II success with the senior Wales National Team, we talk to Sport Swansea Sportsman of the Year Jacob Draper about his first year at SUMHC.

Position: Midfield.

Team: 1st

Why Swansea Uni? It was perfect for me to be able to combine a good degree with a really good standard of hockey, with players and coaches so enthusiastic and wanting to get better every session.

Favourite on pitch SUMHC moment: Playing Varsity in front of so many people, the atmosphere of that game was incredible, unlike anything I've played in!

Favourite off pitch SUMHC moment: Every Wednesday, especially away days. The weekly Wednesday socials are a perfect way to end a day of hockey in boozy fashion.

Ideal first date: Jimmy's all-you-can-eat (only a Monday because it's half price for students).

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? Still playing hockey.

Favourite SUMHC Social? Just every Wednesday night, you meet so many different types of people that you wouldn't normally talk to regardless of what team they're in.
