Stat-Man 6

Stat-Man Week 6

With the early mornings and late nights of Wednesday behind, us we take a look back at the week before where all but one of the games were played away from the comfort of Sketty Lane, ‘The Water Based House of Pain’ (George Sariak, 2015)

Results

Teams that only had the one game up first this week so we will be leading with the 2’s who travelled to Cardiff medics, and won 3-2 to continue their perfect start to the season with 15 points of 5 games. Goals from Thommo, a reverse flick from Novak, and Zeyn who also won TW no big shock there.

The 4’s also played their only game of the week on Saturday against Whitchurch winning 2-0 securing themselves 3rd in the league. Goals came from Greg who bagged himself the Park fish bar man of the match, (aren’t we professional this year) and Fencey who I gather ran into a fence or something to earn that name.

The 1’s had a very well 1’s like week with an unfortunate loss on Saturday to C****** with the score being 3-2 despite a red for one of their players, I think Judgey might be last on the list of 1’s players I would start a fight with #biggestlad, and what I’ve been told was a harshly disallowed goal from Yorkie. Both the recorded goals came from flicks, so I’m assuming Fish and the live tweets show they nearly grabbed that equaliser. On Wednesday the defenders taught their forwards how to finish with all 4 coming from defensive players, including a brace from Tim Denman, as well as a goal apiece for Tom Judge and Ollie Edwards. The final result was 4-3 so a good sign that varsity is on a Wednesday.

The threes also with two games this week on Saturday travelled to top of the league Whitchurch where they came away with an unfortunate 4-3 loss in a real yo-yo of a game, 2 goals from Gav (twatting it from short corners, how else) and one from OVK

The threes also joined in with the early starts this week travelling to aber to play on a 3G pitch where they lost 1-0 their first loss on a Wednesday to a team outside the club.

Top Goal Scorer

As we move towards the mid-point of the season Chris Pearson of the 4’s leads the way, will anyone catch him will anyone make the magic 30 goals a season, will a threes player break the top 5, Who knows it’s thrilling stuff.

The Brick Wall Award

Alex Duffield may feel hard done by but a minimum of three plate appearances is required for GPG to be a fair reflection but he’s looking good for it. Also it is worth noting that since joining the ones poor Conor Baverstocks stats have taken a beating, do him a favour boys.

The liability Award

Come on now Jamie this is getting ridiculous

Team Analysis

Three teams into the positive and with the ones not far away good signs for Swansea Uni Hockey.

Attack Vs Defence

Alex Duffield has reopened the gap in favour of the keepers, I want to see it happen guys.

Goal Difference Tracker

Because I’m not great at Excel the line doesn’t look like it climbed but trust me it did. Even without the clubs best preforming team we would still be in the positive numbers and that is something to be proud off.

Keep on Keeping on.

Much Love OVK x
